About Our Studio
Misa Luna Digital Health & Education Studio, based in the UK
Our Story
Misa Luna was founded by an international doctor who went through PLAB 2 and UK clinical training. Like many international medical graduates, the journey involved navigating complex exam structures, adapting to new clinical environments, and finding efficient ways to practise and prepare.
What started as small, personal tools to help colleagues practise more efficiently gradually grew into proper apps. The first was a simple timer to simulate PLAB 2 station timings. Colleagues found it useful, so it evolved into a more comprehensive exam companion. Then came requests for emergency simulation tools, and eventually, the opportunity to support mental health services for Turkish speakers abroad.
Today, Misa Luna remains a small studio focused on building focused, high-quality tools that genuinely help people. We don't aim to be the biggest platform or the most feature-rich app—we aim to be the most useful for the specific problems we solve.
Our Mission
Our mission is straightforward: make high-quality, focused tools that reduce stress for doctors and improve training outcomes. We believe that well-designed, purpose-built software can make a real difference in exam preparation and clinical education.
Beyond medical training, we're committed to providing accessible mental health support for Turkish speakers abroad. Migration, cultural adaptation, and language barriers create unique challenges that deserve culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate care.
We also support tennis training through our distribution of reliable, professional ball machines. Whether it's a local club, a coaching academy, or a serious player, we believe in providing equipment that helps people train effectively.
How We Grew
The first tool: a simple, exam-style timer to help candidates practise PLAB 2 station timings. Built out of personal need and shared with colleagues.
A platform to help PLAB 2 candidates find practice partners, organise mock exam sessions, and build supportive study networks.
Developed emergency medicine simulation tools—both web-based and mobile—to support realistic training scenarios for medical students and junior doctors.
Launched an online mental health platform connecting Turkish-speaking clients abroad with qualified psychiatrists and therapists, focusing on migration trauma and cultural adaptation.
Began distributing professional tennis ball machines and accessories across the UK, supporting coaches, clubs, and serious players.
What We Value
- •Focus over features: We build tools that do one thing well, rather than trying to be everything to everyone.
- •Honest communication: We describe our products accurately and don't overpromise. Our apps are educational tools, not medical devices.
- •Privacy and security: We take data protection seriously, especially for mental health services and medical training tools.
- •Continuous improvement: We listen to feedback and iterate based on what users actually need, not what we think they should want.
